Awesome All-Day Adventures
Y Summer Camps help kids grow and have fun through exploring the outdoors, building self-confidence and independence, learning core values, developing life skills and - most importantly - being active.
Each week, imaginative themes and activities provide an engaging atmosphere for hands-on learning and exploration. And, while camp is packed with fun activities, we also make sure to supply enough undirected play time that gives kids the chance to build new friendships or simply hang out with their favorite counselor.

Opening assembly gives kids the chance to show their spirit and participate in team-building. Counselors incorporate a variety of icebreaker games designed to help kids discover more about their fellow campers and counselors. This camp-wide ritual lays the foundation for the rest of the day's activities.
One of the most fun things about camp is the opportunity to play games of epic scale. A game of tag or freeze takes on a new dimension when 50 kids join in on the action.
Besides learning new skills and developing hand-eye coordination, kids learn how to listen, socialize, think outside themselves and enjoy being active. Games get kids to work together collaboratively to achieve a common goal - but without the more rigid structure of the classroom or organized sports - allowing kids to experience success and failure in a positive and supportive environment.
Y Campers get to experience the thrill and excitement of scaling new heights as they master new skills in areas that interest them most. Whether learning to tie rope or how to pass a soccer ball, they will be engaged in goal setting, measurement, time keeping and other practices that will keep their math and critical thinking skills in focus over the summer months.
Food and Friends
Taking a break at lunch is more than just about nutrition, it's also about spending time with new friends. Campers eat in small groups that create a sense of community, foster relationships and create connections.
Here are some tips & tricks for packing a healthy, nutritious lunch for your camper.
- Fresh fruits and vegetables are always a great choice.
- Freeze your juice or water bottle overnight to help keep lunches cool and safe.
- Y Campers are always on the move, so pack a little more than during the school year.
- Choose baked chips, dried fruit or pretzels instead of regular chips.
30 Minutes of Literacy
Every fall, many kids return to school having forgotten some of the skills learned from the past school year. Y Summer Camps are committed to infusing literacy activities into each day, so that youth keep learning and continue to stretch their minds and imaginations. Activities range from daily reading and writing to producing and performing plays.
Arts and Crafts
Kids love to create - that's why arts and other creative quests are an important part of Y Summer Camps. Counselors encourage campers to imagine, invent and explore as they develop their own creativity and stretch their boundaries. In the process, they learn how it feels to bring their ideas to life and collaborate with a community of other creators.
Camper Choice Play
Undirected play gives kids a chance to tap into their natural instincts for learning, curiosity, imagination and fantasy in a way that lets them master their world and practice adult roles. Some of the most unexpected and memorable moments of summer camp happen when kids are left alone to engage in free play.
Wrap Around Camp
A popular option for working parents, Wrap Around Camp extends the camp day by providing supervised activities and structured programs before and after camp hours.
