To ensure camper safety, we have continued to monitor the most recent EPA forecasts and air quality in our region. Currently, smoke levels are UNHEALTHY FOR ALL. We are adjusting our activities to spend the camp day indoors and providing alternative field trips. The rating could change throughout the day and we will continue to monitor. Please look back throughout the day (and week) for more updates. You can monitor air quality in our region at https://fortress.wa.gov/ecy/enviwa/. Our next update will be at 6:45 am tomorrow.

EASTSIDE YMCAS (BELLEVUE, COAL CREEK, SAMMAMISH/CAMP TERRY, SNOQUALMIE) - CAMP PROGRAM UPDATES FOR AUGUST 21 (UPDATED 8/21/2018 9:15 AM):

Recently, the Eastside Region has smoke levels that have moved to the UNHEALTHY FOR ALL level in all locations. Please look back throughout the day (and week) for more updates. Discovery Camp:

Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations with no outdoor time.
All field trips cancelled for today.

Kids on Their Way:
Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations with no outdoor time.

Outdoor Day Camp-Camp Terry & Camp Terry Plus: 

  • Campers with Bellevue, Ben Rush and Horace Mann Pick-Up/Drop-Off will be going to Horace Mann Elementary for rotations of fun indoor activities today. We are also looking at indoor field trip options. By 4:00 pm, campers will be at their normal location for pickup.
  • Campers with Coal Creek Pick-Up/Drop-Off will be heading to the Central University Campus in Sammamish for morning activities and camp rotations. In the afternoon, they will see The Peanuts movie at the North Bend Movie Theater and return to the Coal Creek Y facility at 2:30 for indoor rotations.
  • Campers with Central University Pick-Up/Drop-Off are spending the morning at an indoor field trip (either bowling or a movie). Then returning to Central for the afternoon using the gym and classroom space for camp rotations and activities.
  • Campers with Camp Terry Pick-Up/Drop-Off will be going to Church on the Ridge in Snoqualmie for rotations of fun indoor activities today. We will be contacting families today by phone individually about pick-up options.
  • Campers with Snoqualmie Pick-Up/Drop-Off will be going to Church on the Ridge in Snoqualmie for rotations of fun indoor activities today. We are also looking at indoor field trip options.

Quest:

All Quest locations will be heading to Tag Zone for hours of indoor fun. They will also be going to a movie.

Preschool Specialty Camp:
All locations will be running on a normal schedule with regular activities and locations.

Specialty Camp:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal schedule at their normal locations.

Campers will be going to the Edmonds Theater to watch Fern Gully.

Kids on Their Way:
Campers will be going to the Edmonds Theater to watch Fern Gully.

Outdoor Day Camp:

  • Pioneer (Entering 1-2 Grade) Campers will be going to Ronald United Methodist Church for indoor activities/games. 
  • Adventurer (Entering 3-4 Grade) and Voyager (Entering 5-6 Grade) Campers will be going to Ronald United Methodist Church with a plan of visiting the Dale Turner Family YMCA after lunch for swimming.

Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym, there will be NO PM pickup at Shoreview Park.

Quest:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal trip to Museum of Flight.

Specialty Camp:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal schedule at Dale Turner Family YMCA.

Sports Camp:

  • Volleyball-No changes, campers will have their normal schedule at Dale Turner Family YMCA.
  • Baseball- Campers will be transported to Dale Turner Family YMCA for the day. 

Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym, there will be NO PM pickup at Shoreview Park.

Trek Camp:
Campers will be going to the Reptile Zoo.

  • Ride the Rapids: No change, planned pre-overnight prep activities inside.
  • Tech Adventures: No change, planned trip to the Pacific Science Center.

Sports Camp:

Campers will do their normal planned activity which is an indoor field trip to Center for Wooden Boats.

Trek w/ WAC at CLP: Afternoon Wrap Around Camp for Trek with WAC at Cottage Lake Park on 8/21 will be held at Cottage Lake Elementary (in the gym) from 3:45-6pm.

Discovery Camp & Kids on Their Way - Matt Griffin: Seahurst & Hazel Valley

Campers will remain inside their Elementary School locations until after lunch. They will then go to the Gateway Theatre in Federal Way to watch an indoor movie at 1:30pm- Hotel Transylvania III.

Discovery Camp & Kids on Their Way - Auburn: Sunrise & Fairwood
Sunrise campers will remain inside at their Elementary School location until they leave for their indoor field trip destination to the mAst Center in Des Moines. Campers will only be attending the indoor part of their field trip and not the beach portion.

Fairwood campers will remain inside their Elementary School location until they leave for their indoor field trip destination to Secoma Lanes in Federal Way for bowling.

Outdoor Day Camp- Auburn:
Campers will be inside the Auburn Valley Y for the day. We will have fun activities for campers rotated indoors throughout the day. Any outdoor climbing and archery activities will be cancelled.

Quest- Matt Griffin:
Campers will be going to the movie theatre to watch Teen Titans along with cooking, crafts and fun activities at the Matt Griffin Y.  

Trek - Auburn
Campers will be indoors for Wrap-Around Camp at the Auburn Y. Planned activities will occur indoors at various museums this week as scheduled.

Trek - Matt Griffin:
Campers will be going to the movie theatre to watch Teen Titans along with cooking, crafts and fun activities at the Matt Griffin Y.
Trek Wrap-Around Camp will be indoors at Hazel Valley.

Outdoor Day Camp - Magnuson Park

  • The Pioneers (Entering K-1 Grades) will take a field trip to the Meredith Matthews YMCA for gym games and swimming. Please bring a swimsuit. 
  • The Voyagers (Entering 4-5 Grades) and Adventurers (Entering 2-3 Grade) will do indoor rotations in Magnuson Park

Trek - Magnuson Park: 
Field trip to Laser Quest.

Specialty Camp:
  • PCC Cooking Specialty Camp - Magnuson Park, will be at PCC from 9:45-12:15 and indoors at the Magnuson Park gym for the remainder of the day. 
  • Jump Rope Specialty Camp - Magnuson Park, will be in the Magnuson Park gym all day.
  • Science Specialty Camp - Phinney Neighborhood Association, will be in the Phinney Center all day. 

Sports Camp:
Lacrosse Camp - Going to the Meredith Matthews YMCA gym. Pick up and drop off still at Magnuson Park, transportation provided by YMCA.

Campers will remain at their Elementary School and outdoor field trips has been adjusted to Imagine Children's Museum Everett.

Outdoor Day Camp-Lincoln Park:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and all then all ODC campers will be bussed to Boren K8.

  • Pathfinders Group will go to MoPOP
  • Trailblazers group will go to Boren K8 and do camp activities in the Gym/Cafeteria. 

Wrap Around Care PM will ONLY be at Boren K8. All parents must pick up from Boren K8 either at 4pm or during regular WAC hours. There will be NO afternoon Wrap Around Camp at Lincoln Park all campers will be at Boren K8 in the cafeteria and gym. Boren K8 Address: 5950 Delridge Way SW, Seattle 98106 

Trek and Quest Camps:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and all Trek and Quest Campers will be bussed to the Fauntleroy YMCA.

  • Trek on a field trip TBD - still finalizing plans
  • Quest on a field trip to Flying Circus

Wrap Around Care PM will ONLY be at Boren K8. At 3:30pm campers will be taken to Boren K8 for either WAC or 4pm pick up by parents. All parents must pick up from Boren K8 either at 4pm or during regular WAC hours. There will be NO afternoon Wrap Around Camp at Lincoln Park all campers will be at Boren K8 in the cafeteria and gym. Sports Camp:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and then all Sports Campers will be bussed to the West Seattle YMCA for an Indoor Soccer Camp.

Pickup will be at 4pm at West Seattle Y Address: 3622 SW Snoqualmie St, Seattle 98126 (Not at Lincoln Park) or at Boren K8 if you are signed up for Wrap Around Camp. There will be NO afternoon WAC at Lincoln Park.
