Does your camper dream of being a scientist, inventor, or baker? The YMCA partners with local professionals to offer a variety of exciting programs that blend skill development, fun activities and great games.

Y Counselors work alongside local leaders in skilled activities to bring a wide variety of camp options right to your neighborhood.

Camps are filling up! If you'd like to get on a Waiting List for a full camp, call 206-524-1400 or email universitysummer@seattleymca.org. We typically see a lot of movement off the waitlists.

YMCA Camp Magnuson: Specialty Camps

Weekly Fee:
$260 - $300 (Wrap Around Care Additional $50/$60 per week)

$210 - $240 First Week of Camp (WAC additional $40/$50 that week)
$160 - $180 Week of July 5 - 7 (WAC additional $30/$40 that week)


Dates Theme Description
June 27 - June 30  Bike Camp
(Grades 3-5) 
Participants will learn how to use those gears to pedal efficiently and maximize the fun as we explore Magnuson Park and the surrounding area by bike. Build your bike handling skills as you learn the rules of the road and learn how to fix a flat tire. Note: Your child must provide their own bike and must have experiance riding a bike.       
July 5 - 7*

Climb On! (FULL)  
(Grades 4-6)  
Travel the Greater Seattle Area visiting some of the most challenging and fun climbing towers, walls and bouldering gyms. All levels welcome.
July 10 - 14    Sandpoint Junior Scientists (Grades 1-3)  (FULL)  Young Scientists explore hands-on science experiments, fun and challenging projects, that will inspire the inner scientist in your child.

Magic Camp with Bruce Myers (FULL)
Have you ever wanted to be a magician? Learn the secrets to magic tricks and card tricks that you can show your friends and parents. The week concludes with a magic show and your very own magic kit.

July 24 - 28 Yoga Camp Sessions will have a focus of peacefulness, balance and courage. We will play games, dance, go on imaginary journeys through movement, work with affirmations.

July 24 - 28 Wings, Wheels, and Sails with Engineering for Kids (Ages 5-6)
Guten Tag! Travel the world with Kelvin (our mascot) and our core of engineers as we explore Wings, Wheels, and Sails. Drive across the United States, build a boat to sail the Mediterranean, and fly to the Orient, in this fun engineering experience. Join us on an amazing adventure as we design planes, cars, boats, and rockets to travel the globe...and beyond!

Amazing Race: The Engineering of Travel with Engineering for Kids (Ages 7-12) (FULL)

Pack your bags, engineers, and get ready for an adventure! Team up with others for a wild ride across the globe and beyond! Students will carefully engineer vehicles that can traverse the most treacherous terrains, brave the highest seas, and soar above the clouds-are you up for the challenge? Grab your passports and catch a flight straight to Engineering for Kids-a truly unbelievable journey!

Hip Hop Dance
(Grades 3-6)
This camp is for movers and shakers of all levels. Learn new rhythmic techniques and innovative dance routines blending hip-hop, jazz and funk styles.

Lego Camp: Mine, Craft, Build: Adventure Game (Ages 5-7) (FULL)

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO! Resourcefulness, creativity, and cooperation come together in this unique building adventure game; roll the dice to mine for resources, and use these resources to build special items to help in our adventures! Build a Zoo, create a Medieval Castle, and design a Tree House Village! This LEGO experience is an original game designed by Play-Well instructors inspired by the popular game, Minecraft. Students will have a blast, even without any prior experience with Minecraft or LEGO.

August 14 - 18 Lego Camp: Mine, Craft, Build Survival Game (Ages 7-12) (FULL)

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO! Resourcefulness, creativity, and cooperation come together in this unique building adventure game; roll the dice to mine for resources, craft tools, and watch out for Creepers! This ultimate LEGO Minecraft experience is an original game designed by Play-Well instructors, using gameplay elements and characters inspired by the popular Minecraft video game. Students will have a blast, even without any prior experience with Minecraft or LEGO®.

August 21 - 25
Cooking Camp with PCC Natural Markets
(Grades 3-6) (FULL)
Put on your chef hat because it's time to cook! Everyday will be a new cultural adventure as we partner with PCC to help educate our campers on cooking basics. We will be meeting at YMCA Camp Sandpoint and then travelling to PCC. 
August 21 - 25  Jump Rope with Ropeworks (FULL) Whether it's double dutch or single rope, if you love to jump rope this is the week for you. The camp combines single rope skills, double dutch jumping, partner work group routines as well as fun games and is organized for kids to learn the value of teamwork and cooperation.

August 28 - September 1

June 27 - 30  Lego Space Engineering with Leap4Kidz  
An integrated STEM curriculum including science, technology, engineering, math, as well as history, language arts, and team decision making to children using LEGO® bricks and motors. This is a hands on class where students will build and design with Legos and receive an introduction to levers, gears, pulleys and more using batteries and motors to bring their creations.

July 5 - 7*
(*No camp July 3 & 4)
Gamesapalooza           Compete in camp-wide games and challenges, and build team spirit among your fellow campers.

July 10 - 14    Music 101 with LEAP4Kidz          
 
Campers will learn the basics of musical theory such as musical note time values, reading notes from the treble clef staff, and beginning notations; such as time signatures, sharps and flats in a fun environment that emphasizes learning through teamwork, sequencing, counting and other math skills.

July 17 - 21 Yoga with Mindful Movements Sessions will have a focus of peacefulness, balance and courage. We will play games, dance, go on imaginary journeys through movement, work with affirmations, color mandalas as a form of meditation and end with a guided relaxation.

July 24 - 28  Grossology Campers will conduct a variety of messy and fun experiments and explore the science behind them.
July 31 - August 4    Make Your Mark With Art  Participants will explore new types of art to focus on each day (painting, drawing, photography, etc.) and projects are designed to expose children to basic art skills as well as learning more about the perspective of famous artists throughout history.

August 7 - 11    LEGO Camp: Superheros with LEAP4Kidz         
SuperheroesUnite! In this fun creative camp building sets from Avengers, Batman, Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ninjago and more. Kids will work together building models from 1hr to 3 days to complete and will have an ultimate battle to save Earth from evil doers.

Camp Invention
Campers will be encouraged to use teamwork, creative problem solving, STEM, and innovation in this camp filled with hands on challenges.

August 28 - September 1
Performing Arts
Take part in dramatic games, activities, and prepare for the camp stage. Performing Arts Camp will provide your up-and-coming star with a fun, energetic, and comfortable setting to develop skills and confidence. Kids will learn by rehearsing and presenting a fun and exciting showcase designed just for kids.
