ONLY Eastside YMCAs (Bellevue, Coal Creek, Sammamish/Camp Terry, Snoqualmie)  - Camp Program Updates for August 20th (Updated 8/20/2018 6:45 am):

To ensure camper safety, we have continued to monitor the most recent EPA forecasts and air quality in our region. Currently, smoke levels are UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS. We are adjusting our activities to spend at least 50% of the day indoors and providing alternative field trips for hiking and beach trips if scheduled for Monday. Smoke could worsen into UNHEALTHY levels on Monday or Tuesday. Please look back throughout the day (and week) for more updates. You can monitor air quality in our region at www.airnow.gov. Our next update will be at 12:00 pm today.

Discovery Camp:

  • Bellevue Sites: Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations with no outdoor time.
  • Coal Creek: Campers will remain at their Elementary School with limited outdoor time. Field Trip is relocated to Pine Lake which is rated as Good for Air Quality.
  • Sammamish & Snoqualmie: Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations with no change to programming based on a Good rating for Air Quality.
Kids on Their Way:
Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations with limited outdoor time.

Outdoor Day Camp-Camp Terry & Camp Terry Plus: 
Campers with be at Camp Terry for the day. Additional rotations in the House and Yurts will be provided as well as less vigorous activities. If conditions change, campers will return to their local branch locations for alternative activities.

Quest:
Camps will be going to Snoqualmie Tunnel or Exit 38 Climbing. The staff will provide additional rest and water breaks throughout the day.

Preschool Specialty Camp:
All locations will be running on a normal schedule with regular activities and locations.

Specialty Camp:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal schedule at their normal locations.

Dale Turner Family YMCA-Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Edmonds

Discovery Camp:
Campers will remain at Chase Lake Elementary.

Kids on Their Way:
Campers will remain at Chase Lake Elementary.

Outdoor Day Camp:

  • Pioneer (Entering 1-2 Grade) Campers will be going to Playdate SEA or the Reptile Zoo for most of the day and will return to the Dale Turner Family YMCA gym. Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym.
  • Adventurer (Entering 3-4 Grade) and Voyager (Entering 5-6 Grade) Campers will be going to the Pacific Science Center for most of the day and will return to the Dale Turner Family YMCA gym.


Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym, there will be NO PM pickup at Shoreview Park.

Quest:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal trip to Microsoft.

Specialty Camp:
No Changes- Campers will have their normal schedule at Dale Turner Family YMCA.

Sports Camp:

  • Volleyball-No changes, campers will have their normal schedule at Dale Turner Family YMCA.
  • Baseball- Campers will be transported to Dale Turner Family YMCA for the day. 

Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym, there will be NO PM pickup at Shoreview Park.

Trek Camp:
Campers will be going to the Klondike Gold Rush Museum.

Afternoon WAC at Shoreview Park will be moved to Dale Turner Family YMCA Gym, there will be NO PM pickup at Shoreview Park.

Outdoor Day Camp:

  • Pioneers: Spending time at the Northshore Y branch as well as a roller-skating field trip.
  • Adventurers: Field trip to the Snohomish Aquatic Center
  • Voyagers: Spending time at the Northshore Y branch as well as a roller-skating field trip.

ODC w/ WAC at CLP: Afternoon Wrap Around Camp for Outdoor Day Camp with WAC at Cottage Lake Park on 8/20 will be held at Cottage Lake Elementary (in the gym) from 3:45-6pm.

Quest:

  • Ride the Rapids: Burke Museum filed trip and roller-skating.
  • Tech Adventures: No change, planned trip to Paine Field.

Specialty Camp:
Extreme Adventurers: Field trip to Vertical World in Redmond.
Magic: No change

Climbing Camp:
Field trip to Flying Circus.


Sports Camp:

  • Soccer- Indoor at the Northshore Middle School gym.
  • Track- Indoor at the Northshore Middle School gym.
Trek Camp:
Campers will do their normal planned activity which is an indoor field trip to Flying Heritage Museum and Paine Field.

Trek w/ WAC at CLP: Afternoon Wrap Around Camp for Trek with WAC at Cottage Lake Park on 8/20 will be held at Cottage Lake Elementary (in the gym) from 3:45-6pm.

Campers will remain at their Elementary School locations and planned outdoor activities have been adjusted for indoor alternatives.

Kids on Their Way:
Campers will remain at their Elementary School or Branch locations and take part in fun indoor activities with limited outdoor time.

Outdoor Day Camp- Auburn:
Campers with be inside the Auburn Valley Y for the day. Rotations in the facility will be provided as well as less vigorous activities. Any outdoor climbing and archery activities will be cancelled.

Quest- Matt Griffin:
Campers will be going bowling and then head over to the Matt Griffin Y in the afternoon for indoor activities.

Trek - Auburn
Campers will be staying at the Auburn Valley Y inside the branch rotating through different art activities throughout the day. Outdoor climbing and archery activities will be cancelled.

Trek - Matt Griffin:
Campers will be going bowling and then head over to the Matt Griffin Y in the afternoon for indoor activities. Wrap-Around Camp will take place indoors at Hazel Valley.

University Family Y: All pick up and drop off will take place in usual locations.

Discovery Camp:
Campers will remain at their Elementary School and outdoor field trips have been adjusted for indoor alternatives.

Outdoor Day Camp - Magnuson Park

  • The Voyagers (Entering 4-5 Grades) will take a field trip to the Meredith Matthews YMCA for gym games and swimming. Please bring a swimsuit. 
  • The Pioneers (Entering K-1 Grades) and Adventurers (Entering 2-3 Grade) will do indoor rotations in Magnuson Park
Trek - Magnuson Park: 
Field trip to bowling and roller skating

Specialty Camp:
  • PCC Cooking Specialty Camp - Magnuson Park, will be at PCC from 9:45-12:15 and indoors at the Magnuson Park gym for the remainder of the day. 
  • Jump Rope Specialty Camp - Magnuson Park, will be in the Magnuson Park gym all day.
  • Science Specialty Camp - Phinney Neighborhood Association, will be in the Phinney Center all day. 


Sports Camp:
Lacrosse Camp - Going to the Meredith Matthews YMCA gym. Pick up and drop off still at Magnuson Park, transportation provided by YMCA.

Outdoor Day Camp-Lincoln Park:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and all then all ODC campers will be bussed to Boren K8.

Wrap Around Care PM will ONLY be at Boren K8. All parents must pick up from Boren K8 either at 4pm or during regular WAC hours. There will be NO afternoon Wrap Around Camp at Lincoln Park all campers will be at Boren K8 in the cafeteria and gym. Boren K8 Address: 5950 Delridge Way SW, Seattle 98106

Trek and Quest Camps:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and all Trek and Quest Campers will be bussed to the Fauntleroy YMCA.

Wrap Around Care PM will ONLY be at Boren K8. At 3:30pm campers will be taken to Boren K8 for either WAC or 4pm pick up by parents. All parents must pick up from Boren K8 either at 4pm or during regular WAC hours. There will be NO afternoon Wrap Around Camp at Lincoln Park all campers will be at Boren K8 in the cafeteria and gym. Sports Camp:
Morning Wrap Around Camp will happen at Boren K8 and Lincoln Park. Non Wrap Around campers can be signed in at Lincoln Park at 9am and then all Sports Campers will be bussed to the West Seattle YMCA for an Indoor Soccer Camp.

Pickup will be at 4pm at West Seattle Y Address: 3622 SW Snoqualmie St, Seattle 98126 (Not at Lincoln Park) or at Boren K8 if you are signed up for Wrap Around Camp. There will be NO afternoon WAC at Lincoln Park.
